Have you recently applied for an received either of these two cards? If so, they have increased the bonus miles you can earn as long as you notify them within 60 days of being approved for the card/s. Simply go into your online account with Chase and click on “Contact Us”. You can send a SM (secure Message) to them letting them know that you recently found out that they are offering more miles and you would like them to do the same for your new account. I’ve done it several times and not once did I have a problem. Again, the only caveat is that it must be within 60 days of being approved.

I wish to inform you that we are unable to apply the
50,000 bonus points offer to your account. This offer was
for accounts with an annual fee of $125.00. Upon review,
I see that your account ending in 3978 has an annual fee
of $95.00.
Although we appreciate your loyalty, we ask that you trust
that this decision is the same for all members. We feel
that adhering to the same policy for all members is the
best way to remain fair and consistent.

what was the old ‘bonus’ compared to this ‘new’ bonus. I got a sapphire on Oct. 1 w/ a 40K bonus. Is it more than that now?

Gary – the new bonus is 50,000 points with an annual fee of $125 instead of the $95 dollar fee with the 40,000 mile bonus. It is up to you whether this is worth it or not.
